Laminated roll film for automatic packaging machines is supplied on reels and runs on vertical or pillow-type equipment. Once loaded, the machine forms, fills and seals packs in one continuous operation, which suits high-volume production with a fixed pouch or sachet format. The printed design is already on the web, so there is no separate labelling step and the roll can go straight onto the line.

The film is laminated from PET, PA, PE and similar materials, with each layer doing a defined job: the outer layer provides stiffness and printability, the middle layer adds toughness and a barrier against moisture, oxygen and light, and the inner layer acts as the heat-seal surface. Common gauge is 6–12 silk (60–120 microns). Web width is customised to the machine and bag format, and printing is available in 1–8 colours. Structure, gauge, width, roll core and artwork can all be tailored, with food-grade or high-barrier options depending on the product.

Applications include automatic packaging for food, daily chemicals, hardware and electronics, often with candy, biscuits, wet wipes, granules and powders.
