Custom Colostrum Spout Pouch for Calf Milk | 2.5 kg & 4 L Chilled Farm Storage

This made-to-order spout pouch is designed for calf feeding on dairy farms. It uses a stand-up pouch body with a welded spout, and the two standard fills are 2.5 kg and 4 L. Farms use it to portion bovine colostrum and milk, hold them briefly under refrigeration, and drench calves on site. Once filled, the pouch stands on its own, and the spout controls dispensing so a single worker can transfer and feed without assistance, reducing the contamination risk linked to repeatedly opening open containers.

The pouch body comes in two barrier configurations: a metallized film structure, where a thin metal layer is deposited on a carrier substrate, and a pure aluminium foil structure, where a full aluminium layer is part of the lamination. Packaging commonly uses these constructions to block light, oxygen and moisture; dairy liquids are sensitive to light and oxygen when chilled. The inner sealant layer remains in place for spout welding and pouch edge sealing.

Fill volumes span 1-10 L, and dimensions can be adjusted to match your filling line or feeding routine. Printing supports 1-8 colours; artwork and colour matching can be supplied by you or developed jointly. Optional accessories include a drain tube and an outer frame. The drain tube directs liquid toward the feeding outlet, while the outer frame provides external support for the flexible pouch. The minimum order quantity is 10,000 pouches.

Typical applications include colostrum packaging pouches, cattle-rearing pouches, calf drench bags and farm packaging bags, along with milk pouches and feeding pouches that take the form of liquid spout pouches. Because calves receive a measured volume per head at each feeding, pouch-based packing simplifies allocation, keeps used packaging easy to collect, and offers a tidier routine than decanting from drums.

Production begins by selecting the film structure for the intended use, followed by printing, lamination, curing, slitting and bag making. The spout and frame are installed during bag making.
